Awards and Recognitions

In recognition of its excellent performance in the field of water resources and related fields, research and capacity building, UNESCO-CWR was awarded the UNESCO UNITWIN Distinction Award, UNESCO-HQ-Paris, November, 2002.

Appreciation Award for outstanding performance and distinguished efforts by the National Water Research Centre of Egypt in April 2004, Cairo during the 2nd Arab Conference.

In november 2017the UNESCO CWR hasbeen approved as Center of Excelency at Ministery of High Education and Seintific research (MHESR). Being a Center of Exelency the UNESCO CWR will be entitled for many research project funded by the (MHESR) every year, eg. The project of Investigation of Earth-Fill Dams Failures in Seasonal/Intermittent Streams.
